PTA
Welcome to Salfords Primary School PTA!
The PTA is a very important and exciting part of the school life here at Salfords Primary School. One of the things that sets this school apart from many others is its sense of community where everyone works together for the ultimate good of our children.
Fundraising Events
In the past, our PTA have helped to purchase and contribute towards items which directly benefit our children’s education, such as essential books, life bus, outdoor classroom, Google Chrome Books and a climbing wall.
Events we usually hold include: Summer and Christmas Fairs, Infant & Junior Discos, Parent quiz night & Easter Eggstravaganza.
Running events can only be done with the support of others, just an hour of your time can really help support our fundraising efforts. Things such as:
- Supporting a Summer or Christmas fair stall (Various time slots are available)
- Setting up/tidying up at the Summer or Christmas Fair
- Making sweet packets for the disco
- Creating signs and banners
- Donating prizes
Socialising
Our role isn’t just fund raising, it’s also about encouraging all of us as parents and our children to socialise with each other and to enhance the community spirit within this school! Our PTA meetings are sometimes held in the local restaurant and this can be a great way to meet new parents/carers.
Other ways you can help to fundraise:
- easyfundrasing
- Take part in 'My School Lottery'
- 2nd hand uniform donations of any outgrown school clothes
- Recycle old clothes in ‘Bertie Bin’
- Charity Matched Funding
The committee
The core PTA committee is only made up of 3 representatives parents/carers. We meet 3/4 times a year, and all parents, carers and teachers are welcome to come along. Meeting dates are circulated by email to all parents and teachers, as well as appearing on the calendar on the school website.
Whilst a core committee role isn't for everyone, there are many other roles/jobs which are vital we have support with. Without support we're not able to run events which not only raise funds but also provide fun experiences for the children, families, teachers & wider school community to enjoy.
If you have any questions you can always leave a message for Emma Peskett or Kym Jacks-Bryant (PTA co-chairs) at the school office or e-mail:
