Year 5 - Ospreys & Owls
Welcome to Year 5!
In Year 5 this year, our teaching team consists of Miss Brookshaw Ospreys and Miss Parrott in Owls.

Autumn 2 |
How have Ancient Egyptians impacted on how we live today? |
Spring 1 |
Light - Design and construct a product which allows you to look over/around something without moving. |
Spring 2 |
Create Greek inspired clay pots constructed to represent one of the areas of Ancient Greek achievement. |
Summer 1 |
Children will design and bake their own cakes, adapting a basic recipe to use ingredients of their choice. |
Summer 2 |
A recording of children performing a piece of music inspired by the festival Día de los Muertos- Central American Day of the Dead. An art gallery honouring each child’s culture and ancestors inspired by Central American artists/artwork. |
Key days
PE day is Friday. Children need to come to school in their full PE kit.
Spellings are given out each Wednesday and the children are tested on Mondays.
Maths homework involves 10 arithmetic questions based on what has been taught in class. This is handed out on a Monday and handed back on a Monday.
Children will be sent home with a reading book matched to their reading level. They can change this book as often as they would like to.
