The School Day

The official part of the school day starts with morning registration at 08:40 am and ends at 03:10 pm. This includes breaks but not optional before or after school activities.

The total time this amounts to in a typical week is 32.5 hrs.

Registration lasts from 8.50 - 9.00 and children complete morning tasks like maths of the day or spend some time looking back at their work from the day before.

Over the morning children have English and maths and then reading or phonics depending on their age and stage of learning.  Playtime for Y1, Y3 & Y4 is at 10.15pm and Y2, Y5 & Y6 is at 10.30am for 15 minutes. Lunch starts at 11.45am for Reception 12.00 pm and 12.15 pm for the KS1 children and 12.30 pm for the KS2 children.

Afternoon lessons start at 1pm and 1.15pm for infants and 1.30pm for the juniors and cover the wider curriculum. These include Spanish, computing, music, art and design, design technology, history, geography, RE and PE.

School finishes at 3.10 pm every day and parents meet their children on the playground.

The infant teachers take the children to their parents and wave them goodbye. In KS2, the older children often walk home or meet their parents on the playground.
