Miss Cheeseright - Nursery Lead

Miss cheeserightOriginally from Manchester, I relocated to Surrey and my daughter attends Salfords' Primary School. I have worked within the Early Years for ten years, starting out as a  Nursery Assistant at one of the leading Nursery chains in the North West. Over the years I have worked my way up to my current role as Nursery Lead.

I am very experienced with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and am able to use Makaton. I am currently working towards an Early Years Degree and am level 4. In my spare time I enjoy reading, singing, cooking, and spending time with my friends and  family. I will aim to build a strong bond with your child and support them with every step of their learning!

Mrs Tickner

Mrs TicknerI began working in childcare over 13 years ago as a childminder, after having my first child. During this time I worked with a variety of Special Educational Needs children.

While childminding, I did many training courses including achieving a Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (QCF). Since childminding, I decided to do a Level 3 Teaching Assistant course.

In my spare time I am very busy looking after my family pets, I also enjoy walking, reading and learning new things.

I really enjoy working with children and seeing them grow. I am looking forward to supporting your child in any way possible, to help them blossom at the start of their learning journey.

Miss Allen

Miss Allen

I have always had a passion for working with children and have worked within the childcare industry for over a year now. I have recently joined Salfords' Primary School and I am currently studying for my Level 3 Diploma for The Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator).

In my spare time I enjoy reading, baking, and spending time with my children. I enjoy nature and animals and love being outdoors.

I hope to build a strong bond with your child and support them with their development and help them to thrive on their new adventure.

Miss Blore

Miss BloreI am currently undertaking my Level 3 Apprenticeship for Early Years. I am a mum to 5 children, so have my own personal experience in understanding child development, managing feelings and providing a stimulating learning environment.

In my spare time I enjoy making memories with my family, spending time in the great outdoors on muddy walks and exploring what nature has to offer. I particulary enjoy putting this into practice in our Woodland Discovery.

I am excited to support your child through their Nursery journey.

Key Person

Before your child starts at our Nursery we will come and visit you at home. This helps us get to know your child in the comfort of their own home and we will ask you to complete an "All About Me" form to support this.

Once your child starts with us they will be allocated a member of staff who will be their ‘Key Person’. All our Nursery staff will get to know your child well but the Key Person’s role is to help your child settle and be someone they can relate to and rely on when they are with us. The Key Person will identify how your child learns through their play and be responsible for ensuring that the care your little one receives meets their individual needs. The Key Person will be your first point of contact for any questions you might have.

We will inform you of your child’s Key Person once they have been at Nursery for a few weeks. This gives us the opportunity to get to know your child and identify who the most appropriate member of staff is for your child. This is based on the relationship that your child has with the different team members and any additional needs or interests.

At Salfords' Nursery we use an online system called Tapestry to make regular observations of your child - we write down what they say and do and take lots of photos to keep you updated with how they are getting on.

We have an open-door policy, so please come in and speak to us if you have questions or need some more information.
