GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

We are proud of our premises and provision at Salfords Primary School, and are always looking for ways to improve the environment for our staff and children. This Easter has seen lots of work including a new mural in the sensory garden, fresh painting, clearing of landscapes and brand new Nursery toilets. Thank you to @ag_plumbingandrenovation for the high quality refurbishment.

Back to school tomorrow - sleep well! At Salfords Primary School, creativity is an important part of the curriculum and life. We loved our last art based project, with history, nature and cultural links. Our art gallery at the end of term showcased every child's art. Our art clubs also displayed their pieces inspired by Dean Russo - an artist best known for his street-art inspired portraits of animals. The multi layered art, using mixed media and printing techniques, have all been entered into the GLF Foundation art competition. #glfschools #glffoundation

We have a strong enrichment programme, helping to bring learning alive beyond the classroom. Every year group will be invited on a school trip or residential, have a local walk/exploration and welcome visitors to deepen their understanding of themselves and the world. Here, Year 3 enjoyed a fabulous trip to Hampton Court Palace as part of their history learning. Thank you to the staff and volunteers who accompanied them. At Salfords Primary School we are fortunate to have a lot of outdoor spaces - 2 playgrounds with trim trails and junior gym equipment, several quadrant areas and a sensory garden, a full EYFS outdoor provision and a superb Woodland Discovery area (Forest School). What a busy week! Well done to our football team for the local schools matches this week. They won a match, drew a match and lost a match - showing great team efforts and resilience. A huge thank you to our PTA who organised a super 'Eggstravaganza' this week, thank you to our local Tesco , Waitrose & Partners and Sainsbury's who donated chocolate egg prizes. As a key setting in the local community, we enjoy working with and supporting Salfords & Sidlow Parish Council . A huge thank you to them for providing the daffodil bulbs - one for every child in the school. The bright yellow blooms are an absolute joy around the school. They have some super events coming up too.

Well done and thank you to our Year 5 team who have set up their own 'fidgetz' stall. Each afternoon junior children are able to borrow one of the donated fidget toys. The team have been great at setting a business idea into motion and listened to feedback. Today we joined together to celebrate #rednoseday for #ComicRelief with a splash of red. Thanks to the creative initiative from our School Council, pupils and staff added red shoes, socks, ties, tops, jumpers, and even face paint and hair accessories to their uniforms. We're thrilled to share that we've raised over £300 through cash donations and JustGiving - this is still open for this fantastic cause. Well done, everyone, for making the day such a colourful success. #glfschools
